Application to Access Human Stem Cell Lines from the UK Stem Cell Bank
Those stem cell lines currently available from the Bank are listed in the Stem Cell Catalogue.
The application form to access stem cell lines from the Bank is available below or can be downloaded from the MRC website.
In addition to the application form, applicants will need to sign a Materials Access Agreement (MAA) with the Bank and have negotiated a Materials Use Licence with the Owner/Depositor of the stem cell line(s) being requested.
To avoid delay, researchers are advised to complete the MAA and any MUL while their application is being considered by the UK Steering Committee.
Once the application has been approved by the Steering Committee, the process of releasing the stem cell line will begin. The Bank will contact you once the letter of approval has been sent to you by the MRC Secretariat. If you have not heard from the Bank within 5 working days of receiving your approval letter, please contact the Bank enquiries@ukstemcellbank.org.uk.
A practical guide to requesting cells from the UK Stem Cell Bank" can be downloaded here.
It is in the interest of those requesting stem cell lines from the Bank that they should sign the Bank’s MAA and begin negotiating the terms of the MUL with the owner of the cell line, at the time of application to the Steering Committee. This will facilitate the rapid provision of cells by the Bank. The Bank regrets it is unable to release cells to researchers without a copies of the signed agreements first having been presented to the Bank.
